My New Cut // Hair By Sharon
Yesterday morning was flat out nerve racking. I had a hair appointment planned and was cutting off my hair. Before I get into any details about my experience I wanted to first give you a little background on my hair history. I am a few years natural and have been rocking a press and curl for as long as I can remember. Every salon trip resulted the same and though I LOVE the woman and salon I have been going to my entire life (Salon Shades and Textures) I wanted a change.
I have bad anxiety with trying new things, especially with my hair. To be honest most of my insecurities come from my hair. I am always worrying about my heavily lacking edges and growth. I have been plotting a chop simply to start growing it out healthy again. And recently I have been feeling the urge to do something completely new. I realized that I was 23 years old and had basically the same hair my whole life.
So. Damn. Basic.
That is how I found myself searching for a new look. I have recently been obsessing over Zendaya because she slays. She has a blond bowl cut that has enchanted me every since I laid eyes on it. I knew I wanted something of that sort but I also longed to shave the back of my head. Not sure why.. just figured if I was feeling the urge now, now was the time to do it. I sent a few photos to Sharon and she confidently replied letting me know she could do it, which made me ready and excited. Leading up to it I was flipping, but when I finally got in the chair and felt my hair falling around me I felt empowered.
She was so natural and made me feel comfortable the entire time. This is essential because I am a straight up spazz. She even helped me take photos after which was PERFECT because I wanted to show you guys right away :)
If you are in the area and are looking for someone to slay your natural hair or give you a completely new look I recommend hitting her up. She is super flexible and will work out a perfect time for you. She can even take photo suggestions and will give you exactly what you want!
