Minimal Face and My Skincare Secret
This winter I have had a particularly hard time managing my skin. Whether it is enduring the whipping winds or dying slowly because of the dry cold temperatures I could not catch a break. That was until I received a miracle in a jar sent to me personally from Kiehls! First off I want to thank them for sending me exactly what I have been in need of; a moisturizing and cooling lotion for my skin. I actually use this product on my face instead of cocoa butter which is my usual choice. I apply it just after I wash my face and before I start to apply any makeup. It leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and to me it feels as if it adds a protective layer. What I also love about the moisturizer is how light it comes on, my face may be dry this winter but that does not stop the sweat from spouting on my face. Typically if I use my cocoa butter I have results like this just because it is simply too oil based to be putting on my face. I find that the skin on my face is a lot more sensitive and the right products have to be used for the best result.
Kiehl's is always hooking me up with everything I need. They blessed me at the beginning of the winter with an Apothecary Preparations appointment, at which I got a personal skincare product constructed just for me. A light oil to help with dark spots and hydration. Here is the article I wrote for this event, Kiehl's Apothecary Preparations // The Key To Winter Skin.
I recently splurged on some new makeup at Sephora Prudential because I was in need of some new products. You know when you get to the point where you have no makeup left and you are rubbing empty containers on your un-beat face? Yeah well that was me a few days ago so I needed to get my life real quick. Sephora is conveniently located a couple doors down from my store and has proven to be insanely dangerous for my bank account. Not that I think I need a ton of makeup, there are just so many ways to simplify and apply makeup that is both better for your skin and better for your look. I have a learned a bunch. In fact I had a free makeover done based on characteristics I wanted to see in my finish. I am all about a matte finish, I also love a good contour. Sephora introduced me to some amazing new products that make my regular routine so much easier. Specifically they helped me find a good concealer for my skin that isn't too aggressive, they found me a new mascara and they matched me with the perfect bronzer. The other products above were already apart of my regular routine. I just recycled them, minimalism at its best. Less is more.
Please feel free to comment any of your favorite products! I am always looking ✨
