Threads of My Design
My fashion journey? Let’s just say it kicked off with a bang back in high school—a mix of teenage chaos and early independence. At 13, I was suddenly living away from home, trying to figure out who I was outside my comfort zone. Picture this: a girl who’d never given her wardrobe a second thought, now expected to dress “presentably” every single day. Talk about a wake-up call! I mean, up until then, I was the kid wearing Christmas socks in June without a care in the world. Fashion wasn’t even on my radar, yet here I was, navigating a dress code in a place where my outfits seemed to matter more than I ever could’ve imagined. It was hilarious, awkward, and honestly, just the kind of “fashion boot camp” that I never signed up for but desperately needed.
I was clueless at first, but once I got the hang of it, I fell headfirst into the world of style. Shoutout to early Pinterest and Tumblr—I owe them for saving me from a lifetime of fashion blunders. I mean, I look back now and cringe at some of the outfits, but hey, every style icon has their humble beginnings, right? Fashion was never something I thought I’d be into, yet here I was, diving deeper than I ever expected.
Fast forward to college—this is where things took a serious turn. I fell into the world of modeling, and it was like discovering a new universe. Suddenly, I was on set, surrounded by stylists and photographers, seeing firsthand the artistry behind every shot. It wasn’t just about putting on a pretty dress; it was about storytelling through fashion. I was obsessed. I watched, I learned, and I realized that fashion wasn’t just about clothes—it was a vibe, a statement, a way of owning your space.
Modeling led to retail, and before I knew it, I was styling myself, other models, and growing my portfolio. I started seeing fashion in a whole new light. What began as a hilarious high school dress-code challenge became a passion that’s now woven into everything I do. And even though younger me would be shocked to see where I’ve ended up, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything.
