Last Friday I dropped some of my proudest photos for you guys to see. Just before I packed up my things and headed on a 7 day cruise to international waters. I hadn't thought about it beforehand, but I was going to be without service or the ability to blog the entire time I was away. (Silly me) I am literally still on my cruise ship, on our way back to the port in Boston. I can honestly say I am well rested and ready for what is to come moving forward. I am excited to be on my way home and headed to work instead of preparing for another trip. I have been doing that and only that all summer and quite frankly I am relieved to have done all of my traveling.
But back to last week. I did something completely foreign to me as a #BostonBlogger - I met up with three other fabulous bloggers for a shoot themed: Nasty Gals. Two of them would be shooting with me, and one of them volunteered to be our photographer. We intended to touch on the styles exhibited by this brand, while also adding a little of who we were and what we embodied as stylists. Personally I went for a look that catered to my high waist cargo's I got from H&M and my mid neck black tee from Primark. I also happened to stumble upon the flats I wore in this shoot while looking for sales at South Shore Plaza. I made my way to Call It Spring and left with a steal, $17.50.
At this point all I needed to do was accessorize. So immediately I popped on my midi rings, and some studs I had just bought from H&M. I also had on a gold chain I basically claimed as my own off of the neck of my boyfriend. We met, and not too long after I was wearing his chain on a daily basis. So of course it is integrated into every outfit I put together. I love this chain because it gives me a 90's vibe with every legit everything I put on.
When we met up on the day of the shoot I was so nervous and so curious as to how it would go. Shooting alone is one thing because you choose the flow and comfort of it all. But shooting with two or even three people is something I had never imagined to be successful. But BOY was I wrong. Right away our photographer took a stance in front of us and within moments we were meshing and posing so fierce it felt like this shoot was SUPPOSED to be happening. I felt honored to be apart of it. There I was standing with my girls, my #BostonBlogger girls, striking deadly poses that would be spread throughout our social channels. On my left my girl Annie who is so talented with her vocal prowess she was featured in magazines for her style and witty intellect. And on my right, Nat, a flamboyant designer, photographer, and contestant on this years upcoming season of Project Runway.
I felt so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing women. I think that's where my confidence came from for this shoot. I had no idea the pictures would come out so perfect, and I'm happy I decided to get my lazy ass up to be in them.
The results of these pictures remind me every time I look at them that, everything is "Better Together".
